The Annual Special Ladies Luncheon held on May 30th. was well attended and those present had an excellent meal and a good old time sing song for entertainment. A special thank you goes out to Noble Robert Martin and his Lady Susan and to Noble Randy Hutchinson and his Lady Marie for organizing the days events. Thanks again for a job well done. On June 3rd. a Special Stated Meeting was held to discuss and vote on moving our Rameses office to the Montecassino Hotel in Downsview. A vote was held by those in attendance, and it was a unanimous vote to re-locate to the Montecassino Hotel. At the time that I am writing this message, renovations are going very well and on schedule and we shall be moved in by the third week this August. The Spring Ceremonial June 11th. to June 14th. held in Huntsville!!! WOW!! What is there to say: “LOTS”!! To the new Shriners!! Welcome to you and your families. You are now part of the greatest philanthropy in the world: “Shriners Children’s Hospitals” where we have taken care of over 1.6 million children over the years. Again! Welcome and enjoy!! To Carlotta, our International Shrine Patient from Mexico, she brought with her an inspirational story of her journey as a Shrine Patient. To Ill. Sir Mark Smith – Potentate of Tunis Shrine, we thank you for taking the initiative to bring Carlotta and her family to Canada as we at Rameses were very proud to be part of it. To the Shrine Clubs and Units with your donations, I thank you immensely for your donations. They were as follows: Shriners Children’s Hospital Montreal Canada $93,169.00; Rameses Temple $23,219.59; Rameses Transportation Fund $135,477.86 for a Grand Total $251,866.45. That Grand Total amount gets another “BIG THANK YOU”!! Now for the big part!! To all of you that attended the Ceremonial, on behalf of Lady Barb and I, we both thank you from the bottom of our hearts for a fantastic weekend. To the Muskoka Shrine Club and the other Nobles that assisted, and also to the Ladies that helped, you did an excellent job!! You were all well organized and believe this – which is a first in many years – we had our parade downtown Main Street in Huntsville. The 152nd. Shiners International Imperial Session held from July 12th to July 16th. was held in Tampa, Floridia. Although I could not attend, due to travel restrictions, I am proud to acknowledge that Ill. Sir Richard Loomes Past Potentate of Tunis Shriners was elected to the position of Imperial Outer Guard. We wish Ill. Sir Richard Loomes and his Lady Andree safe travels on their journey as an executive of Shriners International. I also want to say a BIG THANK YOU to our Noble Mark Smith and Lady Deb Airhart for stepping in, at the last moment, and taking charge of the setting up the hospitality suite in Tampa.
